Educational Talent Search serves young people in grades six through twelve. In addition to counseling, participants receive information about college admissions requirements, scholarships, and various student financial aid programs. This early intervention program helps people from families with incomes under $24,000 (where neither parent has graduated from college with a 4-year degree) to better understand their educational opportunities and options.

Talent Search is a program that operates 12 months a year, located at Cankdeska Cikana Community College and funded through United States Department of Education. The purpose of Talent Search is to assist pre-college students development and enhance their academic, motivational skills, and improve self-esteem so they may graduate and successfully enroll in a post-secondary educational institution.

In Fiscal Year 2001, $109,960,406 was awarded to serve an estimated 320,854 participants; 360 grants were made; the average award was $305,446.
