Student Support Services

The Student Support Services (SSS) program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, is an academic support program. The goals of the program are to increase retention and graduation rates and to facilitate the participant's transition from one level of higher education to the next. The five-member staff at Student Support Services provides services as needed by the student in the areas of academic, financial, or personal advising; tutoring; basic study skills instruction; admission assistance and financial aid for securing enrollment at a four-year institution; and career development information. Student Support Services serves all students regardless of Race, Religion, Color, Sex, National Origin, Age, or Handicap.

- Grant aid to Student Support Services participants eligible for Federal Pell Grants.

Cultural Opportunities
The Project offers Social Cultural Awareness opportunities to enhance knowledge, understanding, and appreciation in participants. These opportunities provide a context for participants to discuss issues and promotea higher level of awareness. Cultural opportunities are available to students through sponsored outings off-reservation and on campus. Typically these have included attendance at drama events, trips to theNorth Dakota Heritage Center, and other cultura/historical/educational sites.
