Associate of Arts/Associate of Science

The Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) degrees consist of diverse, introductory-level courses in academic and professional areas and require a minimum of 60 semester credit hours. These degrees prepare students for transfer to baccalaureate programs and/or for employment.

Associate of Applied Science

The Associate of Applied (AAS) degree combines vocational-technical course work with academic course work and requires a minimum of 60 semester credit hours. The degree prepares students for employment in the vocational-technical specialty field. The academic area provides a broader education than would be available in a certificate program but less than in the Associate of Arts or Associate of Science program.

Certificate

A certificate of completion is awarded for successful completion of vocational-technical programs. Certificate programs provide vocational skills training, and can be completed in one year. The number of required credits varies by program. A student may complete a prescribed course of study and apply for certification through the Registrar’s Office.
