Wiconi Ohitika Project

CCCC was awarded a Garret Lee Smith Grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services to focus on Suicide Prevention. The grant was funded in October 2008 and runs through 2011.

Project Goals:

  1. Partner with Four Winds School, Warwick School and Minnewaukan School to provide prevention support, referral services and educational activities and events focused on suicide preention.
  2. Implement sucide prevention training to the community, educators, and providers. 
  3. Develop Culturally appropriate suicide prevention education materials, campaigns, and community presentations.
  4. Conduct a community-wide public awareness suicide prevention campaign.
  5. Develop a database that collects and analyzes data which can be used to monitor program effectiveness.
