Athletic Director

Athletic Director, Sheldon Greywater began his first year as athletic director for CCCC in 2012. He previously taught First Year Experience and was an advisor for the Student Support Service Department at CCCC.  Prior to coming to CCCC, Sheldon worked for the Spirit Lake Tribe as their recreation director.  While recreation director for the Spirit Lake Tribe, he re-introduced the baseball program along with coordinating a men’s amateur basketball league. He also served as Head Football coach at his alma mater, Four Winds Community High School from 2007-2011, resigning due to his Athletic Directing responsibilities. 

Sheldon has his BA in Physical Education, Health & Recreation from Jamestown College in 2000.  He was an All-Conference offensive tackle on the 1997 Athletic Hall Of Fame Inducted in 2007. He also threw shot put and discus for the Jimmies. Sheldon was also the starting tackle for the newly formed Fargo Freeze of the Arena League in 2000. He later played in the Minnesota Metro area for the Minnesota Valley Wolfpack where he was an All-Star Tackle and the 2008 National Championship Team, The Central Minnesota Thunderbirds. 

Sheldon started his football career playing through a co-op agreement between Four Winds Community High School and Devils Lake High School, graduating in 1995.  Sheldon had honors as the team’s defensive lineman of the year.  Sheldon also played basketball for Four Winds Community High School, where we started as the center for the Indians.  He also threw shot put and discus for Indians with a 5th place finish in the ND State Track Meet in 1995, in the discus. 

 

Basketball Coach

Dr. Herb Hofer brings over 25 years of coaching experience to the CCCC basketball program.

He has experience at the professional level with stints with the Rochester Skeeters and Magic City Snowbears of the International Basketball Association, and the Rochester Fire of the American Basketball Association. College jobs included Freeman College, South Dakota State University, Texas A & M at Commerce, and Luther College.  He also has coached college baseball at Luther College and coached summer baseball for the Sheyenne-New Rockford, ND;  Devils Lake, ND, and Stewartville, MN Legion programs.

Hofer received his Doctorate in Education from Texas A & M at Commerce, his Masters degree in Athletic Administration from South Dakota State University, and his Bachelors in Physical Education from North Dakota State University.

He has two sons, Brooks and Gavin.
