Wakanheza oti (Sacred Children's Place)

Providing a safe, culturally relevantearly childhood experience

day_care_1Wakanheza oti, located on the campus of Cankdeska Cikana Community College, provides childcare for up to 70 student and community members. Cankdeska Cikana Community College has contracted with Bright Horizons to manage the center for a period of three years.  At the same time, they are training our people to become experts in the early childhood field so at the end of the contract term, we will be able to provide the same level of quality care for our children.  The center also functions as a training facility for CCCC students who are enrolled in the Early Childhood Discipline. CCCC students will receive Early Childhood credit for participation in this experiential and service learning opportunity while providing care to toddlers and infants from the surrounding community.
