Library Aide (2 positions)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the supervision and oversight of the Valerie Merrick Memorial Library during evenings and weekends including opening/closing the library.
  • Commitment to professional standards of confidentiality.
  • Performs general circulation tasks including registering library users in EbscoNet and checking materials in and out.
  • Assists library users in locating materials and information.
  • Sorts and shelves returned books, periodicals, and other library materials.
  • Retrieves and shifts library materials as needed.
  • Performs clerical work such as answering the telephone, recording accurate messages, sending facsimiles, photocopying, completing purchase orders/check requisitions, etc.
  • Assists in basic cataloging, processing, and mending library items.
  • Create sign-in sheets for participants and maintain records.
  • Attend all scheduled college functions and meetings as required.
  • Promote and recruit students for Cankdeska Cikana Community College.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree required.
  • Preference will be granted to CCCC graduates.
  • Willing to explore a career in Librarianship.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and time management.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Flexible work schedule (This will include working evening and weekend shifts).
  • Must be able to physically lift up to 25lbs.
